Many, many Apuggers very kindly helped us out recently regarding a survey on darkroom usage ( more feedback and news about that VERY soon ).

What is the idea behind that survey? Is Harman considering caring for the storage issue?
Aside of the negative envelopes, Kodak slide boxes and Kodak Photo Disk/CD and the APS-cartridge this had not been an issue of the industry itself so far (at least at the moment nothing more comes to my mind).

The way I read the inquiry is that I think they are contemplating making their photo paper boxes archival for print storage.

It's a pretty genius thing, if you think about it, because the name Ilford would be prominent when people bring out their prints to show. But I could be wrong, of course...

Done - and I would pay more for the box if you make it archival.
The "black bag" I dont use for print storage, but I use it to store film (35 mm and 120 exposed film is great to keep this way)

Archival photo paper boxes would be great. If they can be made slightly wider than today, then it would be even better.

FWIW, I would not be in favor of Harman spending more money, and raising the price, to be able to ship Ilford paper in higher-quality boxes. My boxes of silver paper live in my darkroom, where I use them. But once they're in the darkroom, I consider them unsuitable for removing from the darkroom and using for permanent storage, because of the risk of contamination. I have a routine for handling prints off my drying line or drying screens that avoids this for the prints themselves. But the paper boxes are sitting for an extended period, sometimes years, in a confined space where stop bath, fixer, toner, etc. are also being handled.

Agreed. My responses to the survey conveyed a preference for Archival Methods' products. HARMAN's potentially working with that manufacturer to develop a line of Ilford-branded storage products would be fine, but not if those products are used as the original packaging for sensitized materials.
