Hardening print after legacy sepia toner?

I've recently picked up a few bags of legacy pro sepia toner. They recommend a hardening bath with this formula...Is this required? I've not needed a hardening bath with other sepia toners in the past.
I am using this with ilford multigrade, warmtone and fomabrom variant IV. I will be split toning with berg selenium on most prints that receive the sepia treatment.

The instructions with the Kodak Sepia Toners recommend using a hardening bath - and I do.

The rationale is, brown toners and sepia toners soften emulsion, so that they are more prone to scratches. I've read somewhere, the recommendation is to use hardening fixer to do the job. That would mean HCA and full wash again. I've done it both ways.... Without any of that and wash it well as normal, and do the hardening with Kodak professional fix, HCA, and full wash. I don't see any difference. I have not experienced scratching either.

So, these days, I just skip all that. Wash well and dry.

I use Ilford FB MGIV glossy and matte, WT FB glossy, and Adorama's house brand FB in both glossy and matte.

I use Legacy brown toner and sepia.
