My name is Arturo, and photography is an integral part of how I observe the world. It is not only about the final image, but about a process made of attention, waiting, and choice. Before pressing the shutter, there is always a moment in which the gaze takes a position and decides what is worth telling.
I move naturally between analog and digital photography, from the darkroom to alternative processes such as cyanotype, and up to contemporary workflows and AI-based tools. For me, technology is always a means, never an end: something to understand deeply, experiment with, and consciously shape to serve an intention rather than dictate it.
The history of photography is my constant reference point. Knowing the processes, limitations, and visions of those who came before us allows me to look more carefully at images today and to give meaning to every technical and expressive choice. It is an ongoing dialogue between memory and the present.
Photography, for me, is a form of thinking and research. Every image begins with a question rather than an immediate answer. It is a way to question reality, to suspend time, and to take responsibility for what is included in the frame — and what is deliberately left out.
