I recently acquired a m42 Hanimar full manual lens for about 20 bucks. Had a cheap MC/MD mount adapter to it, which flips the darn thing upside down when mounted on the camera body of my x370, however, it is probably the clearest lens I have. Curious if anyone knows anything, or has experience with the f3.5 135mm version of this lens.

Only complaints I have about the lens itself are that the c<-->o dial directly in front of the aperture ring is pretty loose and moves any time I adjust the speed. I'm thinking of taping it in place.

Also, the m42 mount screws in properly, but doesn't sit flush, and leaves a 0.5mm gap between the body and lens when I use it on my Yashica TL Electro X.

The adapter may be split in a way that you can rotate the threaded part against the bayonet part, in order to aligne things.

didn't even think of this. Checked it, it's got 3 screws. For some reason I went under the assumption that it was solid cnc'd aluminum. Thanks for the idea.

Fine. These 3 screws are set crews.

Yes, there are indeed one-piece adapters. Sometimes adapters can be more puzzling than one one can imagine about such thingy.
