Hi all,

I made a lens unit of Biogon 38mm f4.5 from a R.A.F.(Royal Air Force) aero lens.

Lens unit I bought from eBay.

Remove the lens by using a lathe.

Design the adapter with a 3-D CAD.

Finished part of the adapter.

Then, the lens unit was completed.

Was required very, very advanced design capabilities and machining accuracy.

Thanks.
I will post some results about one month later, because I'm making a camera.

that's an amazing bit of creation you have made! it is science expressed as an art.

my skill level is dremel tool dabbling/vise grip clamping/taking "it" to a skilled repair person to undue my "doing".

now, if you could conjure up with a visoflex for a mamiya6...ooh, those longer RB67 lenses. :whistling:

good luck and good hunting.

breathe, relax and enjoy.

This I like... it inspires me to go and tidy up the junk in my garage and get to work on finishing one of my many, many (MANY) uncompleted projects.

I think it will have to be the wide angle 91/2" square camera with the 6" Ross lens, first

stonemute, that is indeed impressive! Have you tested the image circle of the lens to determine whether it could cover film formats larger than 6 cm x 7 cm? (Apologies if this is an ignorant question. Maybe the answer is already obvious to readers who shoot large format, but I am not among them!)

Great work, I also look forward to seeing results!

What was the net cost of this lens, for you to make it?

The net cost of adapter is $190(including nitride & anodized),
biogon is $320(including shipping cost to Japan).
Not included my manpower.

The image circle is 84mm.
It is just covered 6x7, impossible to take 6x8, impossible to rise.
