The so called "wink light" is useful for filling in shadowed eye sockets.

Unfortunately the Metz wink light is also a very SMALL light source and so it casts very specular shadows of its own as a result! I have never used them in professional circumstances, as a result.
The 'main' reduces the contrast, but the wink light shadows are hard edged and distracting.
