Hey there.
Just wanted to share my latest experience/ experiment on making oversize prints using gum bichromate on canvas.
Would love to hear what you all think and who else is doing this.
So this is a 34" * 48" print. Single exposure using large paper negatives
Thanks.

Wow!!! Those are large prints!

You look like you have a good handle on the process as the prints look very acceptable.

How long were your exposures? Given the paper negative and the plexiglass (which is less transparent in the UV than glass), I would expect that it was quite long.

How do you 'develop' them after exposure? In my head, I see a garden hose being used!

Many years ago, I watched a art department colleague make large cyanotypes on bed sheets. She rinsed out unreacted sensitizer in a large steel trough used to provide water to livestock (e.g. horses, cattle, etc.) in the pasture. It was quite an event!

I have no experience making alt process prints larger that 11x14 inches. Thus, I do not have any great words of wisdom to add, except 'bravo' and 'encore'!

This exposure was 8.5 minutes. For paper I use 4-5 minutes usually.

I have made a large steel tray that I use for development using a garden hose and a brush. For canvas I need to agressively brush off teh pigment. It wont come off nearly as easy as it does when using watercolour paper.

'bravo' and 'encore'!
Thank you
