Yes, but many treads are/become very specific too. And at the groups I looked at there is not much going on.

Yes, groups seem a bit odd, since many of them could probably be as easily covered in the regular forums (Pinhole for an example). I do belong to a half dozen, but not much happens. But I suppose for really small, off-the-wall specialties, they could help things stay organized.

My biggest question about the groups is what exactly does "Last activity" mean?! Maybe it's as silly as someone just looked at the posts, but several times when I've seen a recent time stamp there, I have been unable to find anything that has changed within months. As though people look, say "nothing to see here" and go away, but it counts as activity -- not a very useful function IMHO.

Yes I've had the same experience... the other thing is that I forget to go over and check them for months at a time. In the forums, it's easier to see recent activity.

I know there are people here actively doing pinhole, but somehow that doesn't translate to an active "pinhole group". I made a recent post in the "paper" group about my current salt print adventure, but I'm not sure I'll keep posting about it or not... sort of like talking to air, or a brick wall, or myself....

Hey John if you have plans to get the paper group more active, I'll make an effort to check in more often. I love paper negs. Also maybe of interest, here's a link to the paper negative group over at Ipernity:
