Ruediger's package arrived in today's post. It was a real fight to get in to it, but eventually worth the effort. I think this is the first lith print that I have seen from someone else, and it gives me a benchmark to compare mine to.

I like it - Thanks Ruediger.

Thanks Paul and Paul for the kind comments. I am glad you like the print as this is a print I like myself very much.

About the way to get into the package ... is it the case that you tried to open the short side of the envelope?

Cheers

Hey Ruediger!
You made my day with this very delicate print... Woaw! So beautiful it made me forget about the fine of 400 euros I had to pay when I picked up my towed away car coz they decided to clean the snow in the street...
So again, thank you!

Got Paul's Bromoil print from Garden of the Gods today. A very light look to it. I absolutely love it, Paul. And thanks for the note. One day when I get some more room I might just give it a go. Thank you again, made my day.

My prints are on their way!

They have to cross the border, so Lori, Randy and Denis, you need to be patient .

For the first time, I used small mailing tubes with caps. They are simply rolled up and inserted in the tubes.

Hi Stephane,

good that you like it and thanks for the kind comments. Sorry about your car and 400 Euros that is really expensive.

Cheers
Ruediger

PS: This is one of the rare rounds of the group print exchange where I got back as many prints as I sent out. So thanks to Travis for putting me in this great group of people. It was to my delight.

Might try the tube route next time. I sent my prints in stiff envelopes sandwiched between illustration board, plus they were 11x14. Between the size and the weight it cost almost 10 usd each to ship. I choose priority since it was only a dollar more than parcel post. To contrast I receive 2 prints including a 16x20 in a mailing tube and the postage was under 3 usd. The mailing tube seemed quite robust.

I got mine out today. Hope they make it okay. Couldn't decide which prints I wanted to send but hope everyone likes them. I packed in cardboard envelopes with a piece of foam board. I always have foam board around that have been used in boards for demonstrations and projects. They are not nice enough to use anymore but they work great to add some bulk to shipping envelopes!

Lacking motivation I guess. Still yet to print. Gimme a short bit and I'll be underway.

Finally an evening to sit down and relax... I have been a little remiss in acknowledging that I have received prints from Charles and Roger (they arrived safe and sound), a nice forest scene with beautiful light from Charles and a photo of a pottery studio/factory from Roger. Roger's makes me wish I had been into photography when I worked in all those old New England factories.

My prints will be in the mail early next week.

I've been away for a bit, but I've received: Travis' picture from Shenandoah National Park - the matte surface really works for the subject matter; and Amanda's night shot of shipyard buildings which has very interesting tones/toning. Mine are sent. I went the mailing tube route as I recently had the opportunity to print from 6x17 panorama negatives and couldn't find appropriate envelopes for the resulting long skinny prints.

best,

Tim

I've been away for a while, too. Tim, I got your print, yeah I can see why you chose the tube mailer. I like the print very much, panoramic prints always seem to look great to me. Thanks!

Hi Lori, your prints arrived yesterday, and I picked them up from the post office today.

I like them both, but if I have to choose a favourite, it would be the first one (the one you toned).

Thanks again.

Be advised. I have now printed. I will now send. Wow, that was the longest didn't feel like it streak I have ever experienced. Of course, eight hour sessions don't serve to be encouraging either. Still have postcards to do. Glad I signed up for only 15 this time 'round.

I just received Matt Kings Photo in the mail. It is awesome! I really love the square format. I hope to be able to print 1/2 as good as some of you someday! It arrived perfect in the mailing tube and is flattening between some books as I type! I can't wait to get my living room done so I can hang the wonderful prints that I have received! Thanks so much Matt. I love it.

Oh, and don't sell yourself short on your own printing!
