Recieved Blackdogs print last week. I have been looking at it for a while. As he suggested I gave it a good cruise. As a sticks and rocks guy, it was quite a unique experience to have something to look at with all four sides having a chance at up. Nice feat, thanks for the nice print. Prints out soon, can't wait for paper any longer.
John

Thanks, glad you liked it:smile:...IIRC I sent you the torn cement sacks pic [love the Foma paper and I'll definitely use it again].

Group 5 Prints are flattened, etc. and will be in the mail soon. I've been horribly busy with tearing down my darkroom and being in two shows one after another.

So far I've received Travis' and mrtomil's prints in my group. On today's shopping list are to get some more frame sections, matteboard and glass to get them up on the walls. I've been slacking a bit on getting some finishing work done of prints.

Thank you mrtomil for the garden view and Travis for the rugged old pickup.

I didn't bother to include any details with mine, figured I could just post here.

Pinhole image, camera made from an empty quart paint can. RC photo paper negative. About 40 second exposure and around f285. For the past several years I've helped with a pinhole camera workshop held on Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. Made this image outside the local art center where we were having the workshop. Print is on Ilford MGIV FB, matte finish and selenium toned (1+4 probably).

Prints received

Hello

Over the last few days I have received ChuckP's print from the Badlands
and Saganich's Toy Boats.

The prints are great and I really appreciate them.

My own prints will go out as soon as possible.

Regards

Birger A.

Apparently my prints were lost in the mail since no one has received them yet. I will wait until after the holidays to send out new prints as I don't want the same thing to happen again in the holiday postal rush.
In the meanwhile, I hope that the original prints somehow magically show up.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Gene:

I think your excellent print is in my big pile of mail that requires an appropriate (and in your case appreciative) response. It arrived a couple of days ago.

Rlibersky's wonderful print arrived last week, and is in the same pile:sad:

Sorry I've been so tardy (and sorry mine aren't done yet).

Matt

P.S. Thankfully that pile of mail isn't nearly as big as the pile of junk mail!

Picked up a package yesterday with Cara's print. Thank you very much. Like the gate and shadow.

So, it looks like my group has, at least in the US, is done!

Thanks again for the great prints. This was fun. Time to start thinking about the next round I suppose.

Like Matt I have not had time to look at the print yet. Hopefully I can slow down and get to it.

As long as it arrived safe. I was worried that it got lost in transition.

Group 3 - they are finally on their way!

Randy, Art and Gene:

My prints went into the mail yesterday. Thanks for your patience.

I would be remiss if I didn't express my appreciation for the prints I've received.

I have prints in hand from both rlibersky (Randy) and papagene (Gene). They are both 5x7 in size, and both monochrome and both depict older scenes (those are a few of the similarties).

The differences? - Randy's print is on POP, which is a material that I have heard a lot about, but never used or owned. The tones are subtle, and the soft warm tones complement well the detail in the old abandoned vehicle. This is an image I keep returning to.

Gene's photo is a 5x7 contact print. The tones are dark, almost foreboding, and contrast nicely with the smiling caricature someone has added to the old tank. I like how my attention keeps moving back and forth between the small highlight near the edge, and the shadowed central image. This too is an image I keep returning to.

Ironically, for this exchange, I sent a larger than usual pint, and it is a cold toned image (unlike previous efforts). Hope you like it.

Matt

P.S. looking forward to Art's print too

Just received my print from Gary P (Gbphoto). Alll I can say is wow. Rarely do I see prints with this wide of light range pull into a print what would be there visually. Better Printing than I have seen in some shows.
Thanks,
John Berry (vet173)
I had a chance to print some of the lodima. Bottom line, I will walk past any box of Azo to buy this paper. Prints are flatning and later today test strips will be toning mules. Rather than pick a shot and pound on it for a while, I tried a lot of different density range negs to see what the paper likes. So the shots are nothing to really rave about, but kind of lets you know what the paper will like. Exposed to my broke brains best vision of purdy. With the paper at such a premium. These would be good work prints, no burning or dodging so you could see where stuff wants to fall naturally. So give the paper about 20% more credit than shows up in a sub optimum presentation. Plus there is always the constant problem with the loose nut at the end of the cable release.

Matt I received your print. It is sitting with papagene's. At this point I thought i would wait for Art's, get some coffee and relax while taking them in.

BWKate and John,

I'm quite the insecure printer at this point and your comments are much appreciated. Thanks !
