Group Consensus on the ISO of Ferrania P30

Just wondering if after all this time if Photrio has come to a consensus as to what iso P30 should be shot at? I remember iso 80 was very contentious as it lead to blocked out shadows. What speed should one use for this film?

The thing that is hard about ISO for this film is that its color sensitivity is pretty unique. Which means that your exposure will depend a lot on the colors in the scene. I shot it at 50 in Diafine and would likely shoot it at 25 next time.

I agree that it depends a bit on what kind of scenes you're shooting. And whether you follow the Film Ferrania "best practice" document. I've shot it at 80 and 50, and on balance prefer 50.

I rate it at EI32 developed in D96.

I had tested the film to assist Ferrania validate some of the community-supplied recipes (13 rolls and counting).

I have made prints ranging from D-96, Ilfosol 3, HC-110 and TMAX. Of all the developers, TMAX 1:6 24C 7 minutes has such a huge range and is so reliable, it's all I use now.

I am running an roll in D-96 @ EI 50 for 7 minutes at 21C to see if I like it better. I kept 90% of the shots to higher contrast scenes.

I generally treat the film like slide film if I shoot at 80. Some have had great luck using Rodinal, others, not so much. I found it only reliable in a 1 hour semi-stand.

Most of what I see scanned is due to shit software or labs just destroying the output. Folks making prints in the darkroom, I have seen some excellent results from 80.
