Ground Glass

Is ground glass just thin glass that has been sandblasted?

Short answer yes, long answer no. There are a lot of different methods, chemical and mechanical, but I'd say sandblasting works too. I consider it every time I'm in the ceramics department at university. I wouldn't think you'd get a very bright ground glass from this method though.
