silly question--I have some Sinar Norma cameras. Most of the parts are the common color--it looks like tan to me, but some other people have called it green but I can't see that--so what do I know. I've also read about black Normas that came very late in the run. But my rear 5x7 frame (but not the 5x7 back mounted in the frame) is what I'd call battleship grey and is a smoother finish than the crinkly tan. Its definitely the original color because it looks old and has wear down to the metal underneath. Has anyone seen grey Normas before? Anyone know their history? Were they government/military issue?

I doubt it has anything to deal with military or govt color specifications unless a certain leftover spec paint color just happened to be especially affordable, which was often the case post-War. The earliest ones were green, the next series better matched the chromed hardware. I get compliments all the time how nice my Norma looks. Mine is more grayish. But what gal wouldn't be by now, married to me?
