Happy to join the Photrio community, was a lurker on APUG many years ago but happy to see so many peoples that are new to photography seeking knowledge here.
Getting close to 40 years of all thing photography, i thought it might be time to pay back all those great folks that have contributed to my photo knowledge by sharing on the forum.
I would describe myself as a "photo omnivore" with a penchant for all things analog as the kids call it .
Mostly pinhole shooting, some large format cameras 8x10, 4x5 and soon my new 3d printed cameras coming in the mail (Dora Woodman and Cameradactyl) very excited by the way.
And alternative processes, and books too, lots of books.

Welcome from the southwest corner of the country.
I'm curious who you source materials from.

Welcome to APUG Photrio!!

Say hello to Sargent Preston, Yukon King and Rex for me.

Welcome from the southwest corner of the country.
I'm curious who you source materials from.

Somehow i have amassed a very large stock of films, papers and chemicals that i am picking away at. We were pretty lucky in Whitehorse to have a good family owned photo store that would order anything we needed if they didn't stock it. They shut down about five years ago, so mail order is the only option.
I have started using "The Camera Store" out of Calgary and Beau Photo Supplies in Vancouver have also been good to deal with on the phone. For the longest time i would order from a lab i use to work at in Ottawa (Ginn Photo) and they would ship it across the country, but no more, they also closed down a few years ago.
There is always the Vistek and Henry's but i like the small shop with personal service kind of experience.
Recently i found again KHB Photografix in Welland, Ontario. I used them in the pass and had lost their contact, they do repairs, lots of darkroom supplies and large format stuff.
For hard to source weird stuff there is always Freestyle Photography for us on the West coast but with the exchange...

Beau Photo is of course reasonably local for me.
KHB is a great resource.
We have at least one member here from the Northwest Territories, and a couple from the northern parts of BC, but it is always good to see more from Canadians who are a bit farther from the US border - I am just 13 blocks away from that border myself.

Welcome to Photrio from Western Canada.
The Camera Store in Calgary still has a good stock of film, paper and chemicals and they do their best to order in what you need. They also will ship across Canada
