Greetings from where the crocuses are already blooming:smile:
I am a new member and find it quite encouraging to note so many people like myself that are still dedicated to film.
It was getting to be disappointing hearing so much about digital, so I am quite glad to find this place even though I do not agree with some of the posted content.

Welcome from another Victorian!

It's kind of funny to meet you online and our photos are practically next to each other at the same show! Don't worry about some of the latest posts that have been a little over the top. Most of the time people here do respect each other's differing opinions and things don't usually erupt into too much nastiness. Just stay away from that (do like I do and ignore stuff you find not to your liking). There are some really nice people here.

Welcome from Ferndale next to Detroit. The croci have all moved to Bloomfield Hills and would appreciate it if Detroit would stop sending their buses through town.

Hi from Kitimat on BC's north coast, where its been such a wacky winter the seagulls didn't even bother to feed at the dump all winter (because they are finding enough food down the channel...first time that's ever happened) and the crocuses are blooming here as well! Wecome aboard APUG

I agree that things have kind of gone off the rails recently, but there seems to be an ebb and flow to such things around here. On the whole this is an awsome site.

Welcome, from the desert SW Where it is chilly and sunny

Welcome from a fellow BC'er, up in Prince George. I think you'll find lots to read and learn here, I know I have. Just try not to get wrapped up in the falling sky hyperbole we've seen lately. Life's too short methinks.

I'm actually going to be in lovely Victoria the first weekend in March. I love there, I'd most certainly relocate if I could find work... Anyway, I'm looking forward to it, wander around the Lens & Shutter, take lots of photos, feel a warm breeze for a chage.

Welcome from Toronto. We're all glad to have this little safe haven from the digtal onslot.

The majority of the time people here are most civil to each other, sorry if you came on a little spat.

Wow! Seams like we've got a small rush of Canadians joining up lately.

Port Angeles is just a Ferry boat ride away. A nice feature that Sean has is to "disappear" posters that are not to your liking. Just look under: Your Buddy/Ignore List.

Wtf are you talking about man?! I'm about to travel half way around the globe to come to BC to find SNOOOOOOOOOW! Any croci that get in my way will get a sharp ski edge across their stamen.

You, well, you are welcome of course! Just make it that there is snow.

If you agreed with all of the postings it would be a pretty boring site. Welcome in. Just ignore the worst and use the others as a foil for your own ideas.

Hey, I thought all the crocus bulbs were all drowned this year! Welcome. I'll try and refrain from posts pumping the Leafs ... especially this year.

Are you staying in town? There are some great places to wander around if you have a vehicle or even walking around downtown, too! Depends on how much time you have and what you want to see, I guess.

BWKate

That was for the fellow from Prince George who is going to be visiting Victoria.

hi bwkate

yeah, i'm staying at the delta in the inner harbour, my brother works for delta hotels, cheap room! i'm looking forward to walking around downtown, i've spent quite a bit of time there this past year, so i know it fairly well. besides that i have to rent a car and drive up the malahat to some private school where my dad is staying with the rugby team he's coaching. i've only been up that way once before (about a year ago), from what i remember the views are spectacular. i might go for a hike out at east sooke park too, so much to do! i've got my fingers crossed for nice weather.

Hi Chris,

East Sooke Park is great, you'll love it. Sounds like you have it all planned out. I don't have my work schedule yet but I was going to suggest to brsc that the two of us Victorians meet you for coffee if you can fit it in. I'm pretty flexible and I work hours that are all over the place. Maybe Sunday before you leave or another time depending on when you get to Victoria.

BWKate

Chris,

I would not be affended if you're too busy. I've been an APUG member for almost a year and the opportunity to meet other Canadian apug members would be really nice. I also have the postcards from Round #5 and would bring to show!

That sounds good to me, I'm always up for a meeting. My schedule is flexible too, I get to Victoria at around noon on Thrusday (March 2) and leave the following Sunday morning. How about Friday afternoon? I'm flexible, on on holidays!

Chris,

Great! Will PM you my particulars and I will get in touch with Bob.
