Hi, I'm Ken Harrison, a photographer based in Smethwick in the West Midlands, just outside of Birmingham.
I shoot mostly black and white film in 35mm and 120 formats, and have a passion for Infra-Red photography. I process and print my own images and have set up a darkroom at home so I can have unrestricted access to print facilities.
I have my own website at www.kdharrison.co.uk. I can't claim the credit for the design as it is a Clikpic site, with the design template "out of a box" but it suits me perfectly.
I've been shooting for 15 odd years, but only really was able to get serious when I finished a degree a few years back and all the time I had spent reading books could now be used more creatively.
I use an early Mamiya M645, and a Minolta x-700 (both over 20 years old, but the Mamiya could be 35...) both with wide angle lenses almost permanently fixed to the front.
As I have struggled to get my SLR into gigs previously I have moved some way to digital with a Fujifilm Bridge camera which is used for the gigs(as it can slip into a pocket), but have recently picked up a second hand Samsung GX10 DSLR to do the job properly...so just need to get photo passes for venues organised.
The main subjects I shoot are Landscape and Architecture (being in Construction, it's a bit of a busman's holiday) and Gigs (this is my one concession to digital.....) as I am a serious music fan andI've just had some of my gig images published in a tour book.
In 2011, I intend to be taking my photography much further than before and part of that plan is to increase my activity on forums such as this.
All the best
Keep Shooting
