Hello All!
My name is Kent Judiesch and I live in Quebec City Canada

I just wanted say hello to all of you out there and say 'thanks' for this great website. I have been frequenting PN and the Ilfopro sites lately; the former is getting a mite pointy lately (the digital afficionados seem to have taken over) and the latter...Well, it's getting a bit depressing. I heard about APUG on the Ilfopro site and was pleasantly surprised to find out that a safe haven from digital imaging existed!!!

I am a logistician by trade. I have recently slipped back into B&W photography after 15 years out of it. I did a lot of work in high school and then left it behind when it became too costly a hobby. Recently, though, I decided to get back into it and built my own darkroom to make up for 15 lost years!!! That first whiff of Ilford rapid fix brought back a lot of memories!!!

I use a Minolta X-700 with an assortment of lenses for most things, and a Canonet QL17 GIII for wandering around old Quebec City.

Cheers!
Kent

Welcome from the near South - Ipswich, Massachusetts.

Another welcome from Massachusetts. Yes the Ilfopro Forum can be quite depressing at times. And sometimes Lord Michael can be a little too much to take.
You will enjoy this site very much, many friendly and helpful people.

Welcome from a very distant neighbor to the SW.

Ahhhh.... Quebec City! One of the most beautiful cities in North America. You will find this site most beneficial, I'm sure, Kent. Have fun up in the old part of Q.C. and welcome to the APUG site.

Cheers from Ottawa (the other National Capital )

Gene,
I suppose that I ought to have nuanced my statement on the Ilfopro Forum, lest I be misunderstood. The site is brilliant, and David Carper is the best. True Lord Michael is a bit of a bore, but hey...It adds spice. What I ought to have said is that over the last couple of weeks since the layoffs at Ilford, and with David and Wendy having been pink-slipped, I find the Ilfopro site a bit depressing. Prior to that it was great.

Daniel, you cheeky monkey

Good Morning, Kent,

Welcome from Illinois. Glad you found the best photo site.

Welcome Kent!
I'm an Ilford-ite, too...I know what you mean about the site...When I go there, I keep hearing strains of "requiem for the dead" ... not that it is, but everyone is just a little apprehensive over there. I did find an interesting article in the Technical Papers over there about developing Ilford films as slides!!! Hm...I must have missed that before, unless it's kind of new!
This place, however, is alive & kicking! you'll feel like it's home here!
Welcome!
Jeanette
