Just a head's-up on a great deal i came across last night at Costco. It's a combo of a nice Targus sling-style camera bag and a pretty decent tripod. The bag is designed to carry the tripod and it also includeds a 58mm UV filter and a bottle of (gasp) LCD cleaner. all this for $48.00 and change. hopefully, you have a Costco membership wharehouse nearby. i just coundn't believe the price, as a bag alone will set you back about $70.00.

Not sure what the tripod looks like but the one on offer in Canada redefines the term "false economy."

Then I take it you mean it's not a false economy?

I did buy the tripod kit and I do find the tripod pretty good. But since I am a newbie, I am not sure if this is good quality or should I buy one of the professional ones out there. I do not go out for shooting that frequently but just want to make sure that the tripod quality is good one. by the way I own a D90

hey!!! welcome to APUG, we deal a lot with analog photography but I shoot both analog film and digital. D90 is a nice rig you should give an N90s a new home in your bag next to it :D

I started out on a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and picked up two 35mm Canon EOS cameras, an EOS 650 and an Elan 7e, I make money with my Rebel but when I want to create something I can show my brother's children when they get to be my age I grab a roll of film. You should totally get one the prices of autofocus Nikon 35mm's have dropped like rocks off a cliff since their release.
