I will be on the north rim of the Grand Canyon on (or about) the 11th and 12th of Sept.

Anyone else?

Great place to be, wish I could join you. Nope, I'll be here in my crowded, little island, getting prepared to go to a big island - Australia.

Need you ask? I can be there easily. Ever been over to the Toroweap area? Even has a couple of ghost towns on the way to it.

You mean I get to show you an new place at Grand? Your 4x or mine? It is over 50 miles of dirt roads that have been getting rained on lately. BTW it is on the AZ strip south of Short Crik.

Ok, found it. I think I may pass on this one. I think Point Sublime looks a little more interesting.

Of course I have 3 days to kill before getting down there. Where to go. hmmm. Moab?

I think I will hit 9 mile canyon on the way. (and why is 9 mile canyon 40 miles long?)

Hi Rob,

They can't measure distance???

Mouth of the canyon is nine miles from somthing? Like five mile pass, nine mile pass and eleven mile pass are all points on the pony express trail measured from the last station. just a thought.

You could always try Paria Canyon. I used to hike there a bit when I lived in Phoenix.

John knows where the HooDoos you want to find are located. Up for some little known Anasazi ruins? If not Anasazi, how about Fremont? Or you could hike up the La Verkin Creek with me to the hidden waterfalls and hanging gardens that only a handful of people know about.

That is under consideration. I will be shooting quite near there. Something of an area for Hoodoos

thx

Of course, this could be the issue. It's not like I've been there, oh, about a million times.

But there is always somthing new to be seen. hmmm

Ruins, eh? Could be fun.

And thanks for your efforts. I have found them as well. I plan on being there around Sunday I think.

I do like to keep the plans fluid. Ya gotta follow the light, right?

I seem to remember hiking a trail on the left side of the canyon, rather than in the canyon itself. The trail was on the the canyon rim - I found a great little spot to camp, overlooking the canyon. Wonderful place to catch the sunrise.
