I havent followed with exactitude, but it was clear to me that it was a light contamination problem. And when there’s light contamination, there’s over exposure, and where there’s overexposure/fogging there is bigger grain... it’s really a 1+1+1=3 situation really.

Well it would appear to be solely a light problem that was safelight related and not overexposure in the normal sense of the word nor over-development, both of which you mention as the causes

However what conclusion I draw from your reply is that we are agreed that it was overexposure post exposure so to speak from exposure to a safelight but not over-development

If it’s overexposed and developed for the nominal exposure index, the film has ended up being overdeveloped. It has certainly not been pulled during development.
