I am looking for a Graflex flash to use with my 4x5 Crown. Is there any advantage to the 3 cell over the 2 cell for occasional use? I hope to find one in as good condition as my camera for display purposes when not in use.

The main advantage of 3-cell is improved reliability of bulb ignition and solenoid operation. The only advantage of the 2-cell is its more compact size.

For display… it’s a matter of what you think looks better. When I use mine I prefer the 3-cell and 4-inch reflector. I have a 2-cell and rarely use it. Either, though, will work fine. For display I like the look of a 3-cell and 6-inch reflector. Tends to make folks gasp.
