Hi all,
I have been using Forte and Bregger VC papers for quite a while now. Just for grins, I bought some Oriental Seagull G Grade 2 paper. When I tried it out, I loved it - quickly went through my 25-sheet package. I then went to buy a box of 100 sheets. However, I was somewhat put off by the price - $89.95 for a box. Kentmere graded paper is only $68 a box.
Can someone who has used both papers comment on the differences and similarities between these 2 papers. Any other suggestions for good substitutes fr Oriental?

Thansk,

Dan

I like both papers but, not so secretly, prefer the Oriental: it's subtler with the range of tones, it tones well and...I think I'm up way too late.

I just finished contact printing on Kentmere Bromide, also in Amidol. I made prints from 5 negatives and used G2 for all of them, which isn't out of the ordinary. I'd say grade 2 is really a 2.5, the 3 a 3.5 and the 4 true. It's worth trying, especially for the $$$.
