Hi all

2 days ago I gave a course to children(7-10 years old) and asked them to do some protrait with my SL66. I've used GP3 shangai film and as Iknow that I shouldn't lose time developing the film ( If I don't them to jump on the table), I take some paper developer.

I used to develop my sheet film in this developer for my platinum work so I know a little about it.

I develop my film in 1+19 for 4min @68°F and continous agitation the first mintute and an agitation every 10 seconds. and I was quite surprise by the result:
  1. with this timing the neg print easily in G2
  2. the grain was quite small compare to the negI develop in rodinal
  3. more difused grain but not bigger
  4. lower iso , I may extrapolate 50

I will scan to neg to show you the grain structure but it is quite impressive for a paper developer.

Sounds interesting, Chris. I like Shanghai GP3 and don't really mind its curl.

My scanner which have a 3200 is not good enough to show the grain. but here are sample

Under my enlarger things are far much better and I think I will enlarge part of each negative to show the grain structure. But rodinal is sharher ( it is known for that) the tetenal paper developer grain is smaller but more diffused.
