Where can I get hardwood strips in the UK of various thicknesses measured in inches?

I want to follow Alan Greene's plans for a calotype film holder, but I live in deepest darkest Wales where model shops are few and far between  . His plans are measured in inches (no problem) and he suggests using basswood but any hardwood will do, I suppose.

Anyone know of a good online store that sells wood strips (from 1/16'' - 1''). I've tried Googling, but thought I'd give you lot a try as well.

Thanks

Since you need finished dimensions and not unplaned, I think it might be best to talk to a local mill, carpenter or what to call it that can plane the wood down to your exact requirements.

cynan,
try www.model-dockyard.com
They list several hardwoods in sheet and strip form, for building model boats, including lime ( called basswood in the U.S.)
If you google "model boat plans" you will get a few other mail order suppliers as well.
Good luck
