I'm looking at a Singer Graflex Grafmatic 4x5 Film Holder for a
Pacemaker Speed Grafic camera that has a Grafloc back on
it.

Will they fit in the Grafloc back?

The Grafmatic holder will slide in just like a regular 2-sided holder.

And if you take off the groundglass panel, you can use a Grafmatic with just the Graflok slides to lighten things up, if you are focusing with the rangefinder or scale focusing.

Thanks

Thanks guys!

Since I'm new to this camera, I may need some mentoring on using it.

I won it off eBay. I'm bidding on a 135 lens and looking at the Grafmatic holders.

4 x 5 is new to me. I'm use to medium format and 35mm, so I'm excited.

I want to do BW and since I'm limited on darkroom space, I remember that Jobo had some daylight processing tanks. They seem harder to find. I don't know if the company is still around or not, but the daylight tanks would be ideal for me.

Any feedback on them? A good source?

Also, got any BW film suggestions?

I really appreciate the help.

The tanks are around both used and new. There are two types (with some variations among the types) of Jobo tanks for 4x5 (and larger) films. The 2500 series uses a reel which can hold up to 6 sheets. The 2500 series can be "extended" to hold two reels and thus 12 sheets.

The 3000 series has little "tubes" within the tank that you roll the film and slip into.

Both are light-tight and can be used for hand processing but are really intended to be used with CPA, CPP or CPE machines. Depends on the tank and its configuration as to which machine can be used with which tanks.

Got that? It is pretty confusing. If you google around you might be able to find a PDF of the instruction sheets for the tanks and I think they contain a matrix that shows all options, relavent part numbers and such.

Meanwhile, some 5x7 trays and a 100% blacked out bathroom with bathtub works too...

The Jobo 2500 with the right reels will handle everything from 4x5 on down. So you can invest in one tank and multiple reels to do everything.
