About a month ago, I bought a Mamiya 6, something I have wanted since I was in high school, when they came out back in the 90s! I absolutely LOVE this camera! I have the 75mm lens now, hoping to get the others as soon as I can afford them. I've already shot 30 rolls of film through it!

Nice tonality which is what I'd expect from you.
I especially like the 2nd shot of the clapboard farmhouse. 6x6 slightly wide isn't always easy compositionally.
You did nicely here.

The shot of the sign is a bit disturbing. Any backstory you know of? (I'm hoping all it is, is some bored kids that reshuffled the lettering one night :errm: )

Congrats- those are great photos... I just picked up my mamiya 7 and couldn't be happier... Have fun with it, keep posting pics

It is across the street from a college, so I'm guessing some of the students got drunk over the weekend and messed with the sign, but I don't know for sure.

Lonely town. Where are all the folk who live there?
Looks like the Mamiya 6 fits your vision very well. Great photos. Well done.

This has been my favorite camera for years now. After buying the 50mm lens I stopped using the 75 and 150. It's remarkably sharp, and I like wide and sharp

50mm

I used the 6 on a hiking trip in England last summer. I found that the 50mm was how I saw the world - only took it off once or twice. On days that promised to be tough, I left the other lenses in the room and only took the 50 with me - didn't miss the weight or the other perspectives.

Nice shots. I do not need a Mamiya 6/7, I already have plenty of very nice MF cameras, but the more I see the more I want!

Had a 6 outfit w/all 3 lenses-could't get many good shots because of the parallax-it's a lot greater thanw/a 35mmRF.

Depends how close you shoot and how tight you crop. At the distances such as in the photos in the OP, it shouldn't be any problem at all.

I normally don't crop that tightly anyway, unless circumstances absolutely require it.

I'd like to have one, either 6 or 7, but already have too many cameras and have trouble deciding which one(s) to take on trips or on a given day!

I'm just back from a long weekend in Istanbul. I took my Mamiya 6 with all three lenses. Of sixty pictures, ONE was taken with the 150, two or three with the 75 and all others with the 50.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever read.
I have an M6 with all 3 lenses. My best photos have been taken with this camera. If you can't get good photos, trust me, it's not the parallax.

I had problems with the Mamiya 6, not the Leica M6--have many great shots done with a Leica M4, and now my Contax Gs. I work in too close for the large Mamiya 6 parallax, and am most comfortable w/a 35mm SLR.

For all who find a Mamiya 6 with a 50mm lens ideal, you may want to consider a Plaubel Makina 67W. Even more portable than the Mamiya 6 as the bellows fold in flat. Great Nikkor lens, too.

Whew... Looked at #4 and for a moment thought I was back in Winnemucca, Nevada...

Though I've never owned one, let alone shot with one, I remain convinced that a Mamiya 6 or 7 would be my ideal camera. I'm "making do" with an old Hasselblad for now

Wonderful images Chris, it's very clear that you have found YOUR camera.

Any in the San Francisco area (east bay ideally) up for loaning a 6 or 7 out for a few hours? Maybe a joint shoot somewhere? I got a load of cameras you can try too.

Once you have one of these, that problem is solved: you will know
