I just brought home some nice darkroom gear. I think I got a pretty good deal. I haven't tested anything yet but I'm hopeful. The guy said everything worked before he stopped using it and went all digital. I paid $155 for the lot. I know some folks are giving away analog darkroom gear but I can never find it so $155 seems pretty good to me.

1 - Omega D 4x5 enlarger with Chromega Dichroic II color head, power supply and voltage stabilizer (no carriers and only the 4x5 mixing chamber)
1 - spare color head for above
1 - Chromegatrol enlarging timer
4 - 16x20 paper safes
2 - Thomas Duplex safelights (bad filters)
1 - 11x14 Bogen two-blade adjustable easel
1 - 11x14 Speed Ez-El
1 - 16x20 Speed Ez-El
1 - 20x24 Speed Ez-El

Hopefully, I go back next weekend for more goodies.

I'm an inch closer to gathering items I need for a darkroom. Soon I'll need to sell a non-running car so I can convert the detached garage into the darkroom I've been wanting.

Can't complain about that!

Thanks, folks. Do you think I should pick up the other Omega enlarger (assuming I can raise the funds)? He wants $80 for it and it too comes with mixing chamber, PS, stabilizer and timer. IIRC, it's a bit uglier than mine though. The thing is I don't need another enlarger unless it's an 8x10. I just hate to see it go to the dump. He has more mixing chambers and various negative carriers stashed away but he may want pretty good money for those.

What I hope to pick up this coming weekend is a nice (practically new) water mixing system complete with dual filters for $110 and is already put together with copper tubing... all I have to do is solder to the two ends. There will probably be a few other odds-and-ends too. Who knows... maybe he has a water chiller somewhere??:D

If you have an empty warehouse, heck yes. I quit doing this after getting 4 Beseler 4x5's for really great prices. One is like brand new. Unfortunately, I don't have a warehouse so they are taking up lots of space. Insane.

I don't really have a place to store large things... but I live alone so no one to gripe at me either.:D I'm trying to raise funds but I may not have much cash available by this weekend so I may not be able to save the other enlarger.

Good news... I raised enough funds to buy nearly anything the seller has to offer (if it's on the cheap). I'll update again Saturday or Sunday. I wonder if he has a water chiller.

Great haul!

I have a couple of D2 chassis with the variable condenser heads. I've fitted an LED lamphouse for black and white. I'd love to find a color head for that price locally (or someone who'd ship the darned thing) if it were ready to add. Nice haul!

Do you have a thread explaining the LED conversion?

It's been discussed on here before. I got it from a fellow who advertised them on LFPF and has been here too. He had a web site but it's not there now and the domain is parked by GoDaddy. Unfortunate, because he also had a diffusion version with VC color control, controlled by an iPhone/iPad/iPod, and I was hoping to get one later. It looked really slick. I'll see if I can find the PM and such and see if he's still making them just maybe doesn't have the web site anymore.

EDIT: The maker of the lamphouse I have posted here as cardiomac, but hasn't been online since January of 2014. I dropped him a PM. If he has his profile set to email him when he gets a PM he may still get it.

I'd like a diffusion controllable VC one even more, but I really like this one. It just attaches in place of the incandescent. LEDs will outlast many, many enlarger bulbs and there is virtually no heat and no negative popping. Changing back if I want to use CP filters for color is the work of a minute.

You did well grasshopper.

Thanks, Roger. Please post here or PM what you find out.

I too was looking with interest at his products.

His business was/is named Modern Enlarger Lamps.

I hope he is still around.

I'm surprised he didn't reply here. He did reply to my PM saying that he's still making the lamphouses and the web site was down due to domain renewal notices going to the wrong email address and it should be up again.

He did say he has stopped offering the iPhone/iPad controlled version just due to concerns about Apple that their constant updates would break his ap for controlling it.

I don't have the URL handy on this machine but will look it up later, if someone else doesn't post it first.

I was unable to make the trip to pick up any other equipment but I'm grateful for the pieces I listed in my OP.
