I stumbled across this series on Netflix called "Abstract: The art of design" and one of the shows in the series is about a photographer named "Platon" (a single name, sort of like "Elvis")

I found it pretty interesting so far and I like his work.

thanks for the tip...

platon is actually his last name, which he uses professionally. i heard him speak about his portrait series of world leaders... besides a good photographer, he is an excellent speaker and storyteller!

Yes, he seems very likable and interesting personally. I was especially impressed with how he related to his subjects and how he directed them. I agree with the documentary, he really gets "something" out of them.

Just watched this show. I found Platon's work and personal story captivating.
I would also recommend "Tales by light". I've only watched the first episode about underwater photography and found it very inspiring.

When I first saw his work it seemed to me to be heavily worked-over, but interesting. When I saw a lot more of it I gained a new appreciation. I "like" it. However, one Platon is enough :D

I've seen a lot more of Platon's work...yes, much of it has a worked-over look, but putting that aside and with each viewing I've gained a lot of appreciation.
