Thinking of putting a water filter under the kitchen sink with a separate faucet through one of the accessory holes (like this). Any recommendations for a good one that doesn't break the bank? We have hard water. Oh and it will double as cooking water filter as well.

I wish I knew the brand we use, but it's just a big plastic canister with a filter cartridge you change out. We use ours with a small drinking water faucet (and I fill up pitchers for some darkroom tasks - I generally only use distilled for film developer and final rinse, and use filtered for most other uses - and tap water for actual washing).

The canister is about a quart size it seems; the filters last 5 years or so. It looks similar to this style of setup.
