Sold GONE TO A NEW HOME: Black Pentax Program Plus with electronic fault

Hi Everyone, here we go again. This is a remarkably clean black Pentax Program Plus with an electronic fault. I ordered brand new 2L76 batteries and tried two of them. The camera shows the flashing ooo oo, which, according to the manual, means low battery. I also tried two 303 batteries. I mounted a genuine Pentax-A lens with the green A setting. On A mode for both the lens and body, the display shows 1/1000 f/22, but the shutter speed does change as you pan from a bright area to a dark one. The manually-set shutter speeds do change throughout the range, and I think the light meter LED shifts. I did not try it with film - maybe this body does work??

The body is super clean. Batter compartment is clean. Possibly the previous owner never used it. I hope someone more handy than I am can get it to work.

The display shows "1000" until the frame counter has been wound to "0". Maybe it's working?

I read that in the manual. I had advanced to well past no. 1.
