Anyone have a lens that takes filters in a slot? I know that the very very old lenses had waterhouse stops, but this one has an aperture. What, Where, and how are the filters used in slots?
Regards,
Curt

I have the same make of lens in 16-1/2" - f/90 that I got from Jim Galli. It has aperture leaves and the slot also. I cut a chunk of thick black nylon sheet into a paddle shape to use for a "shutter" by pulling it out of the slot and then stuffing it back in.

cheers

If I recall... the repro trade was concerned with the shape of the aperture.
Different shaped slips were used to control the highlights.

It does give me some ideas. When I got this lens it was in a barrel and as I looked at it I thought, I wonder if it would fit into the Wollensak Alphax shutter I bought to receive a lens that didn't fit. Well, it did, now I have a front mounted lens in shutter. I can still use the slot. I'll try something in there. I also have a 16 1/2 Artar.
Thanks All
Curt
