Glass plates and Beseler 45

Hi all,

I have some old glass plates and want to know what type of negative carrier to use so i can enlarge them in my beseler 45. I have a 45 carrier, but what with these plates being glass, the carrier won't fold down flush.

Any suggestions?

I did some glass plates years ago, get yourself an omega 4x5 carrier , the one that comes apart. worked great.

it will fit the besler 45

I contact print my plates, but what Ann said should work well.

The simplest method is to fold a piece of shirt board in half, cut out the mask opening, and sandwich the plate inside.

I also contact print glass plates. Did one this morning in fact - on POP and gold toned. Glass plate was Ilford r25 which I developed in lc29.
