I am so glad I have found APUG. With it's "focus on film" (yes, pun intended) I believe that I will not be subjected to the "film is dead" harrangues one finds on sites like RFF!

copake, "film is dead!" Sorry, just wanted you to feel at home. This is a great collection of film users, as good as it gets, I think. There is so much to learn here and many wonderful people as well. I've learned a lot by reading the posts and looking at the images. The nice thing I've found is a willingness to help and share advice by all of the people here. There is also a remarkable range of talents in too many types of photography to mention in a small post. Welcome. tim

Thanks for the welcome.

Besides living in NY, my wife and I also have a home in Tucson - up by Kolb and Sunrise (nr Ventana and Sabino Canyon etc.).

It's really quite poor form to badmouth another forum with your first post.

I suppose it's poor form for me to point that out with my first post, but my oh my is it childish for you to do what you have done here and at RFF.

I think you will both find a very different atmosphere here. There are a great many knowledgable photographers here all only too willing to give advice and help to any questions you may have.

I'm tempted to come to the Conference. It's been a number of years since I visited T.O. and would enjoy the chance to combine photo stuff and catch up with some old friends we know. We'll see.

Are you actually up in Copake? I go there all the time to photograph. Great area to live in. Actually lived there myself for several years.
