Gitzo G1270 Tripod Head on Manfrotto 3001BPRO

Hi, I have a Manfrotto 3001BPRO leg and a friend is trying to sell me a Gitzo G1270 Tripod Head (a specialized head). Do you think it will fit on the leg? Thanks...

OK it'll fit but may be a little overkill for your use.
It's designed for medium & lf cameras & the mounting plate(2.75"X4.75") may not be convenient if you're using 35mm.
