Sounds fine to me. I can lead us to a few waterfalls. How far do we want to travel?
What about Barnsley Gardens? Or we could travel south to the Air Museum at Warner Robins.

Hi! I'm new to the site, and new to photography. I'm in Atlanta, and I was hoping I could find someone who could help me learn how to use my mom's old Canon camera from the 70s. Every class I find is digital, but I want to use this one. Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction? My e-mail is rachelrwhaley@gmail.com I hope someone can help me!

Hi Rachel,

I would recommend that you check out Spruill Center for the Arts in Atlanta. They have Basic Photo 101 classes offered at a reasonable fee.

Hi Rachel. You are at the right place. You will find that the folks here are very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help.
What kind of Canon is it and what lenes do you have for it.

I REALLY don't know much about it...but it's a Canon EF from the 70s. I don't know what kind of lens. I don't even know how to change the film. Is it hopeless to learn from scratch?

Thank you donbga!! That's super close to my house, so I'll definitely check it out!

Hi,
I am in downtown/east atlanta...would love to meet up!

After these holidays wind down would be a good time for an outing. Throw out some times you would like to go and we will see what kind of consensus we can come up with. If you have any special wants or needs you might mention them as well.

Snow predicted by Thursday. If this cold continues it may be a good chance for a weekend waterfall jaunt to take pictures of the ice formations.

I'm new to this forum, in fact it's my first post. I live in Marietta. I may be interested in get togethers, Lately I have been wanting to do some landscape photography. Just have to find the time, and the right weather conditions. Sunday has been the first nice weekend day in quite a while.

Welcome! I'm pretty close by you in East Cobb. PM me if you want to get out and shoot sometime.

I am on the east cobb side of Marietta, so we're close I am sure. I go to Roswell all the time. I have a friends that live there. When I can get it together, I;ll try to shoot you a PM.

I'm in the Savannah area, are there any LF shooters here? what about a club? I need help getting started.

There is the Savannah School of Art and Design which has photography classes, I've seen LF users from there several times. You might contact the instructors and ask about any local clubs they know of.

I am in atlanta...would to have a meet and greet!

How about we set up a meet and greet? Dates? Locations? I am downtown/east atlanta but willing to travel a bit.

2nd Sat in sept?

i am open to ideas....no one wants me to try and set this up !

how about we pick a spot and meet for lunch and maybe some shooting? Weather should be slightly les than the current "surface of mars" temps of last week

Hi Gary,

Multi format shooter from the southside of Atlanta. Recently got back into the analog formats after too much time away. I love the control I have in this area as opposed to my digital work. Good to meet you.

Dustin

Hey Gary,
I live in Griffin, Ga. I am waiting on Mark Hama to retutn my Yashica Dand Mat124G.
I'm hoping to get into B&W and developing. I also own several Nikon Manual cameras. I love film even though I do have a few digitals. Film is just great and when you take a great shot with an old manual you know you took the shot.

Gary, well I'm about 18 months late in posting a reply to your inquiry. I'm in West Cobb Marietta. I have not been involved with photography for probably more than 5 years now, but am getting the bug to jump back in. I was/am a beginning 4x5 and Medium Format B&W shooter. Time to begin some tesing on some new materials since what I began to use has been discontinued - Zone VI chemicals, the old TMAX100 film, Koday PolyMax Fine Art and Agfa MCC 111 FB papers. Hopefully, I'l get going soon.

Nick
