It's also interesting to learn that they had inkjet printers in 1941 ...

Original Hurrell prints are really stunning, if you have a chance to see them in person.

No catch lights; poor shadow detail, underexposed and overdeveloped; nose shadow intersects mouth outline; unnatural touch up to the left breast outline.
breaks too many guidelines to be a successful photo:confused:

Combined with the 92 dpi resolution of my computer monitor, it looks like it was yanked from a magazine clipping. Horrible, horrible stuff. :D

I was joking about this particular picture; It was, however, taken 10 years past his MGM wonder years. He really was a wonderful photographer even if he did have the most beautiful people in the world to photograph.

Here is a very early effort, 1926, before he really had his style.
