I'm new to searching this site so maybe I've missed it but beyond passing references to it I can't find much about gallic acid.
I'm looking for a UK supply of gallic acid. I've got pyrogallic acid (pyrogallol) but can't find the 'raw' acid.
Someone must have some info?

Fisher, ColeParmer, TCI - but as a private individual, perhaps eBay is a more sensible place to start.
Thanks, however, had a saved search on ebay for months - get loads of listings for health food supplements (none of which appear to even contain gallic acid), the odd vintage tin or label and a handbook costing over £200!
Importing from anywhere overseas is expensive - presumably because of 'hazard' restrictions and taxes.
CamLab in Cambridge list a solution in ethylene glycol of 8.5% and I've ordered a bottle to try. I'll come back with results (eventually) but would still like a supply of the dry powder.
The other companies you mention aren't interested in small quantities and/or selling to private individuals.

That's the biggest problem I face too whenever trying to source chemicals in the UK.

The auction site sometimes comes up trumps, but it'd be good to find a supplier who didn't restrict sales to schools or businesses.

And here's was me thinking that gallic acid was something that President Macron pours out occasionally when annoyed at "albion perfide" :D

Don't think it hadn't crossed my mind.
However that's useful - don't know how I missed it - I thought I'd been through their list of chemicals.
Apparently gallic acid dissolves (in water) at between 1.19g per 100ml (anhydrous) and 1.5g per 100ml (monohydrate) at 20°C, which would mean that 500ml bottle contains around 6g dry powder; a bargain at the price they're asking.
On reflection I'd better buy at least one.
