Is this a wish list for this year, or a list of things we acquired last year?

#1 on my wish list is a wide and a tele for my RZ. Prob the 65mm or 75mm shift and the 350 or 360mm.
#2 on my wish list is an 8x10 conversion for my Sinar, with a 5x7 reducer.
#3 on my wish list is to get a better enlarger. A 23C or 45MX.
#4 on the list is some color 5x7 film, now that I know there is more variety than I knew.
#5 on the list is some good external hard drives, since both of my computers are packed to the gills.
#6 MAYBE some Dynalites, though that is probably a goal for '10.

As for what I have acquired this year:

1. Canon FD 28mm f/2.0 and hood
2. Canon FD 200mm f/2.8 IF (replacement for lens dropped in the middle of a road trip)
3. Horseman 6x7 120 back for 4x5
4. Horseman revolving 2x3 back and ground glass with 6x9 film holder for 4x5
5. 20 sheets of expired 8x10 transparency film
6. Mamiya RZ extension tube (Thanks Chris! Will get your film packed up soon!)
7. Canon FD type F low-light focusing screen for old F-1.

I have spent about $700 so far on all this stuff. OUCH!! (The big splurge was the revolving 6x9 back.) That averages to $233 per month...better slow down this year!

I have enough equipment my only wish at the moment is to have continued good health, and have the strength to lug my gear around for a few more years.

Must...not...post...my massive list of gear that NAS has made me get over the past 10 years. Sean's server might crash.

I've been as modest as a young virgin this year, only acquired one camera and one lens, a Contax RX and 50mm f/1.7. I have just offloaded my EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS for a decent sum, and am in the process of listing ALL THE CRAP that I don't use or want anymore. Heaven only knows how much I'll be able to realize out of all this, certainly enough for another new lens or three.

My wish list...

Canon EF 135mm f/2 OR the EF 200mm f/2.8
a few Contax MM lenses
Contax RTS II and III
Nikkor midrange zoom compatible with my F4
and a partridge in a pear treeeeeee!

Do you want this year's GAS or a cummulative total? Like Ralph, cataloguing everything I have is a very time consuming task. To keep the list manageable, I'll just do the last two months:

Top-RF Crown Graphic 4x5
Ektar 127mm lens
Nikkor-W 150mm f5.6
Nikkor-SW 90mm f8
3 Grafmatics
Calumet C-2 roll film back
2 lens boards (flat & deep) for a Graphic View
Canon Motor Drive MA (to replace mine which has a damaged film rewind lever)
Graflex RB Series D 4x5
Manhattan Optical Cycle Wizard B 4x5
Exacta VX with 50mm f3.5 Tessar
Zenit-C with 50mm f3.5 Industar-50

Dan

this is what your list length would have been for the year:

Ektar 127mm lens
Nikkor-W 150mm f5.6
Nikkor-SW 90mm f8
3 Grafmatics
Calumet C-2 roll film back

Canon Motor Drive MA (to replace mine which has a damaged film rewind lever)
Graflex RB Series D 4x5
Manhattan Optical Cycle Wizard B 4x5

Zenit-C with 50mm f3.5 Industar-50

What didn't you like about it?

Too big, too heavy, too white. Too conspicuous. Fabulous images, just too damned much work to carry around anywhere. It was my most left-at-home lens. I'm currently dithering between the EF 135 f/2 and the EF 200 f/2.8. Probably the 200; I have the 135 f/2 in FD mount.

I've been very good since then. In two months, just a 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 Speed Graphic - from the serial number list it dates to around 1911/12 (the list has: 28207 - pre introduction speed – 1911 - wonder what that means - mine is only a couple of hundred higher).

I'm pretty much cured of GAS lately, all my gear needs have been met and/or discarded. Apart from some more specialty lenses that I don't need, there really isn't anything left on my wishlist. My ebay summary page is looking quite empty, there's not a single item on my watch list and no current bids. There really doesn't seem to be anything left that I want!

A couple of months ago I picked up an RB67 with 90mm lens and a spare back. Haven't used them yet. If I haven't put a few rolls through it by this summer, out it goes. My Mamiya 645 Pro kit has also been languishing for quite a while, but I'm not ready to part with it just yet. The same goes for the rather substantial accumulation of Minolta gear I picked up several years ago. I can't bring myself to get rid of the XD-11s and assorted SRT bodies; they're just too nice.

Departing/departed:
Sold all my Nikon gear to be able to expand my Contax holdings.
Pair of Gossen Luna SBC
Canon EF and some A-series bodies, plus some FD lenses that haven't been used for a few years.
EOS 1N-RS that I've had for five years and never used.

Acquired:
Seikonic Starlite meter
Yashica Mat 124G
RB67 kit
A Ricoh Mirai or three
A few P&S cameras
Some contrast filters
Film (mostly Acros) and chems
Some dead T90s (one resurrected)
A pair of Elan 7NE (battery grips acquired separately)
An Elan IIE and a pair of EOS 55 (battery grips acquired later)
Two Domke bags
Some leather hand straps

Wants for the new year? Some time to do some shooting. That's about it.

Beyond that (if finances improve)...
Nikon F6 plus a couple of Zeiss primes
EF 24mm shift lens
EF 50mm f1.2L to replace the 1.8 II
EF 100mm f2 IS macro
Plus one or two... uh... off-topic items that I won't enumerate...

I have gone from a collection of thirty which doubled when I inherited my father's collection.

I have given away some of the duplicates I had and for the first time ever, I am now selling stuff on Ebay instead of buying. I was shocked to see my Ebay rating was over 200 just by purchasing stuff!

I have been feeling a bit depressed lately, so I have bought three (err - four, actually) cameras this week.

1) Halina 35X - a cheap and nasty that actually works quite well after being liberally doused in clock oil.

2) Bencini Comet S - takes 127 film which is a tad expensive for my taste so this one is just for looking at - it looks fine, BTW.

3) Exa IB - only had it a few hours but I like Exakta and Exa cameras so this one is definitely a user. Shutter is a bit stiff but a couple of hours dry firing will probably sort that.

4) Olympia (no, not Olympus) - a very well designed, very cheap camera - very plasticky . It has a special focus-free lens (their name: looks to be a meniscus lens), four apertures, a motor drive, two (yes, two!) viewfinders - one conventional hold-to-the-eye finder and a waist-level finder and a curved film 'plane' to allow for the meniscus lens. I shall put a roll through this just to see how well or not it works, but it will not be a user.

More have gone out than came in this year but I'm still way off my impossible dream of one camera one lens.

Out:
Nikon F90
Nikon FE
Nikkor 20/3.5
Vivitar flash

In:
Nikon F3
Nikon AF6000
Fuji GA645

I threw out my old camera bag and I'm now using a much smaller one. I'm trying to make sure all my equipment can fit in it. So if anything new comes in something must go out.

Nothing I realistically need. But every so often I find myself checking the KEH website, looking for a black M4P in Ex or better condition. No reason to be doing so...l already have two M6s. But...

About chocking on GAS here. At the point where I really cannot shoot everything I've acquired. So, naturally I was in a antiques store yesterday and saw a Nikkormat FT. Only thing that kept me from bringing it home was that it was jammed.

Why people leave cameras on open access shelves is beyond me. Almost every time they are jammed. Mirror is up, shutter won't fire, and self timer is engaged. I mean you have to play with all the buttons while mom and dad are shopping, right? :frown:

I have been GAS free for several years now. If I see something interesting at a camera swap meet and I see something interesting, if I can easily afford it, I might buy it. But I have not had an urge to buy camera equipment for quiet a while.

Eh, screw it. I've owned three off-topic Nikons; four off-topic P&S Canons; a Canon FTb-QL, 4 Pentax H3v/SV meterless screwmount bodies; 5 Spotmatic series bodies; a ME Super; a Super A (black SuperProgram); 2 Hasselblad 500c bodies (almost bought a third); 1 Hasselblad 500EL that was dead; 16 Nikon F bodies of varying vintages and configurations; 17 Nikon F2 bodies of various versions (all metered, but no F2S bodies); 12 F3 bodies (no titanium, limited, or High-Speed models, but regular, HP, and P models); 18 F4 bodies, including one that flatulent1 bought after I'd sold it, then purged at Glazer's for some Contax gear; 5 F5 bodies; 3 FE bodies; 3 FE2 bodies; 9 FM bodies; 3 early FM2 bodies; 25 FM2n bodies; an EM; a FG-20; a N8008; a N90; 4 Nikkormat EL series bodies; 7 Nikkormat/Nikomat FT bodies; 43 Nikkormat/Nikomat FTn bodies; 22 FT2 bodies; and 4 FT3 bodies. Am about to receive two N2000's and another N8008 from KEH, which are coming with a MB-20 for my F4s and some other stuff that I won.

I've owned too many lenses to count. That, and a few motor drives and flash units.
