Günter Rössler died on the last day of the year.
He was one of the most famous nude-photographers of the GDR. He even got his photos into the Playboy, a magazine not available in the GDR...
He is one of the few photographers a full-length movie documentary is devoted to which just has been released at german cinemas and on DVD:
"Die Genialität des Augenblicks" [The ingenuity of the moment]
At least the DVD version is English subtitled.

Actually I myself only know of two popular GDR nude photographers: Günter Rössler and Klaus Ender.
The latter was rather into all-natural landscape related nude photograhy.
