The avatars from the old system are blurry on this system, this can be resolved by uploading a new avatar.
Avatars are seen in various places, the largest being 200px x 200px which is shown on your member card pop-up when someone clicks your avatar:
(this is my new membercard after re-uploading a 200 x 200 avatar)
also 200px x 200px shown on your full profile page:
I recommend you prepare a 200px x 200px .png file for your avatar (max file size can be 512kb). This will then be scaled down throughout the system (your menu drop down, forum threads).
Here is a before and after of my avatar after re-uploading a new version:
They will likely never be perfect and razor sharp but it's an improvement.
One option for maximum sharpness is to try uploading The small forum avatar of 55 x 55 px. It might give more sharpness for the forum avatars but will appear tiny elsewhere.
In the future we'll put in a system that allows for dedicated avatar uploading for each avatar type of large, medium, small (for those who really want maximum sharp avatars).
