Hi All,

I am updating some DNS entries. If anyone experiences some weirdness such as unable to access the site, or site keeps logging you out, please let me know. I can be reached in this thread or sean@photrio.com

Thanks!

Ok, this went wrong so I have backed out of the changes. Things could be wonky for a couple of hours. Sorry about the hiccup.

Thanks,
Sean

I have only just come on to the site about 5 mins ago so 1:45pm BST and everything seemed fine. Gremlins hopefully now removed

Still having issues, I was online answering a Conversation and had error messages then when I tried to post l had no connection, I refreshed my bowser and it went back to the athletics website.

I had the same error messages while posting this.

Ahhh, that explains why I was getting redirected to something about bunion pads. I e-mailed you with the details.

I have done some extensive research into this. Ian is being referred to his absoluteathletics site because he has expressed a desire to play for Wolves and clearly David indulges in too much old Port and pheasant which tends to lead to bunions. The internet finds you out no matter what precautions you take. A bit of whimsy - it is Saturday night after all:D

I'm still getting the "dangerous site" warning when using Chrome but no issues when using Safari.

Some might need to restart their browser, internet router or even computer, you might have some old local dns cache that is being stubborn. If it still persists after that let me know where you are located so I can check further. Sometimes it can take dns 48hrs to update globally. I've done some global dns checks and it seems ok.

Ok at the moment. Maybe the Russian spammer with the discount pharmaceuticals from India was trying to spam the bunion site or the the athletic site, and was getting redirected to Photrio. Fortunately, the spam was all going to the moderation queue, so most users shouldn't have seen it.

More oddness; since the outage, the main site url, www.photrio.com is showing a server error page rather than redirecting to https://www.photrio.com/forum/. I was beginning to think you'd gone for good... :surprised: ;(
Hi Kevs, what OS and browser are you using? I can't seem to reproduce this issue. I get directed right to the https side. It's possible you have some security scripts blocking this?

I see... I'm using SeaMonkey 2.46, Linux Mint 17.3 (Ubuntu clone) without javascript. The redirect always worked before the outage... odd! I'll try it on Firefox.

Edit: It works fine on Firefox. I also just tried SeaMonkey with Javascript enabled and I'm still getting redirected to https://www.photrio.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi

Also I tried it on Midori 0.4.3 (with and without Javascript) and everything is redirecting as normal (I reach the forums). Teach me to use odd browsers! :D

Thanks, sorry to trouble you.

Ok, we're trying this again. We identified what caused the error last time, so hopefully nothing goes wrong in the next few hours. Worst case, we back out of the change again and wait for the DNS to resettle. If all goes well, no one will notice a thing.

Thanks,
Sean

So far so good. Something I am looking out for would be any SSL certificate errors or people getting logged out for no reason. Testing has been ok so far.

I am getting logged out for no reason, I mean just in session, after been active just seconds before.
BUT not right now, but for at least a year. I never bothered, just logged in again.

Hmm, must be something 3rd party messing with your cookies. You can try setting virus scanner, firewall, browser plugins etc to whitelist photrio.com
