Hi All,
Just a quick list of some imminent updates for those interested.
1) We are updating 8 point releases of the core forum code, which has turned out to be more of a challenge than expected. A large portion of the templates and a few add-ons had to be updated to handle this. The good news is our Dev environment is nearly completed with the updates and is looking good. I hope to roll out the updates next week.
2) GDPR compliance for the EU (data, privacy etc) is being rolled out with these new updates.
3) New moderations tools: We'll be selecting a group of members that can report posts and when a threshold is hit, the post is held in moderation. The mod team will then investigate. This can help with rapid removal of spam or dust-ups when a moderator is not around.
4) Site growth. We have a lot of problems with SEO, so I am bringing in an SEO expert to resolve these issues and get us far better performance in our search/seo rankings. We need to work on social media involvement as well. This should see us gradually increase our traffic and build out some of the less active areas. If you would like to help out, feel free to encourage your friends on social media to visit us as well as adding a link to photrio on your personal websites (we have a sticky thread with over 60 Photrio logos to choose from).
5) Once core updates are done, we can move forward with a lot of ongoing issues/bugs/feature requests. I have plans to improve the gallery and some annoyances with the alerts system. I'm looking at classified ad improvements and getting our 'merch' store up and running.
6) Advertising: I have recently signed up with several new ad networks and am awaiting approval. I would like to experiment and find some ways to bring in more relevant ad content.
I am currently working on some other side projects as well, which caused some delays with Photrio work. Also, getting work done here depends heavily on funding, so thanks to those who continue to support us with subscriptions!
