Hi all!

The link says it all:
What I've been doing in my holidays.
I'm doing this with Bob Wheeler's consent and I'm trying to copy his functionality as closely as possible. So, sorry, I can't consider suggestions for "improvements". VadeMecum for iPhone will be free and should be up at the iTunes App Store in a few weeks. I'll post a comment at the original link when it's up.

See you, Christoph

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.7) 320x240; VZW; Motorola-Q9c; Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard)

I would like to see this when it becomes available. If you are looking for people who are interested, put me on your list.

Sounds great to me! I even have an iPhone 3G to run it on.

Sounds great to me too. Will it include a way to enter data for photographs in the field (i.e. lens, exposure, f-stop, cassette number, zone placement etc.)? I was thinking of trying to write a program for that myself but have never developed with Cocoa or Objective C before (I'm more of a JAVA man myself ...)

The Lens Vade Mecum is a book--one of the best references available on old lenses. So you could be in line at the bank and idly wondering about the differences between a #4 Dallmeyer Rapid Rectilinear and a #3 Busch Portrait Aplanat, and you'd have it--at your fingertips.

Some clarification

"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."
No really, it's not a note taking application. I use an Olympus voice recorder for that. VadeMecum for iPhone will have excactly the same functionality as Bob Wheeler's VadeMecum for Palm. This links to a pdf of the very thorough manual. In short, it's a specialised calculating app for photographers, giving you values that you can use while taking your photographs. Hope this answers mealers' question, too.
And no, Barry, it's nothing to do with the lens Vademecum. As nice as that little computer is, I still think it a questionable idea to read books on a cellphone (or any!) screen.

Ahh, I had no idea there was another vade mecum for LF photographers. Maybe I should come out with a third-- large format vade mecum desert topping. Seriously, any photography programs for the iPhone are appreciated. I've just switched from my Palm and am looking for cool iPhone apps.

Rehosting VadeMecum

I'm trying to contact Bob Wheeler to get his permission to rehost VadeMecum (for large format photographers primarily). His website has been shut down. Does anyone have contact information for him? I'd like to get this hosted on the Android platform as well as the IPhone world; but don't want to just plagiarize his work. I believe he has copyrighted the work.
Thanks,
Bob Younger
