Hi All,

Please be aware that uploads to your personal gallery also show on the main gallery homepage. This can result in your images overtaking the home page which is unfair to others.

Some things I am planning:

1) enforced 5 a day limit to the main galleries
2) personal gallery uploads not displayed on the gallery home page

Thanks,
Sean

If the main issue is bumping images off the gallery home page, maybe a rule (in addition to the 5 per day) that you can't have more than 5 on the home page at any one time. This would force posters to wait until their uploads hit page 2, regardless of whether 24 hours have passed.

some don't go by " a day " is 24 hours
and instead a batch at 8pm ... and when the clock strikes 12 upload another batch...
My suggestion would prevent that. 5 per day, or 5 on the home page at one time, regardless of the time.

Are you talking about ME--chip j? I've only posted about 90--5 per calender day, as per the rules. I only have 5 more to go. I seems that no matter what I do on this forum, I get flak. I'm a REAL PHOTOGRAPHER, not some wannabe. Some people just can't enjoy the show.

not really sure why you have to suggest people are " wannabes " who don't like the show .. because they see the gallery was flooded with sometimes 10 images at a time ?

i guess im a wannabe then ...

A tilly hat??
photovest??
I was hoping it was a beard. I have a beard.

I have a fly fishing vest, does that count? I have a boonie hat, not quite a tilley, how about that? I did shave off my winter beard, still have a Fu Manchu. I do have a coupla real cameras, I think that counts.

Don't sweat it Chip, it's not your fault the gallery software messed things up. I think Sean is working on it so we can post to our personal galleries and not have it clog up the main gallery. Yes it was irritating but unavoidable. I did enjoy some of your shots.

I would also like to see it where no better photos than mine be posted on the say day I post mine. Far too often other peoples photos will get more views and more comments than mine do.
Is that fair?

You are heading the right direction ... Just saw an old portrait of Sean Flynn with a Fu Manchu and a kind of boonie hat ...

Yes, but also ban the so-so and boring photographs.

Who will be the arbiter of what constitutes a boring photograph?
Should we be able to vote off a photo? Have a thumbs up/ thumbs down system?
I think it's a slippery slope, as we all have our own, different ideas as to what a successful photograph looks like. My own experience, here, is we don't always agree on what a photograph is.
