Dear photographers,

a few thoughts about BPX.

I started driving this in round 25. We were 18 photographers then. Now we are only 8. I think we have to live with such a number.

A few rounds ago, some members need more time for printing, and I increased the time between the BPX rounds. Is this really necessary? As far as i have seen, all sending are out until end of March. I ask you: Should we have a shorter period? Maybe 3 month are a good compromise: one month for sign up and two for printing and sending. Or even shorter? What do you think?

When it's three months as it is now I find that it's very easy to forget about the BPX altogether. My opinion is that it would be more fun if the period is two months. The time available for printing is then in reality up to two months as there is no reason to wait a month to print after signing up.

Also, if I for a round don't have time to print, I have a huge pile of prints accumulated over the years which I can select something suitable from (I'm sure I'm not alone having this "problem").

For me a 3-month cycle like Uwe suggests would probably be fine. I usually try to send out my print within the first month, but a little more printing time might be beneficial to others.
Like Trond's stack of prints, I try to have a few prints available to send out in case I can't print 'fresh', but that isn't a big pile of prints just yet.😁

The number of participants in the postcard exchange has recently increased, but that is probably due to relaxing the requirements. I think everyone here would want a darkroom-made print as opposed to an inkjet.

I don't know if making the exchanges occur faster will get more people to sign up. I think a lot of people just don't know the exchange exists.

I'm OK with two months or three months. I have some prints, but I also enjoy making prints for these activities. If we do every two months, that's more prints for me!

And by the way, thanks for doing this Uwe, I enjoy it.

Ok, I switch to three month the next round. The signing up starts in June.
