Bumping this thread after a long absence, any news? anything?
I am keen to know if nothing else if that space shuttle film managed to get processed or not.

I haven't developed any film yet from my documentation of the shuttle launches.

Last couple messages to Mr Frizza weren't returned so I've held back on raising funds until I've got a solid partner to help with the chemistry.

I'm aching to get this rolling and raise some money to get this done. If anyone has a serious lead on color Kodachrome processing, let me know!

Just B&W processing for me... It's been coming along... I've got over 100 rolls of Kodachrome 25 & 64 now so let me know if you discover something.

Hopefully you hear back from Steve in due course, he probably has been rather busy.

I thought he's already said he isn't doing it unless its a single role of something guaranteed to be amazing like a shot of big foot or the third gunmen on the greasy knoll or a recent shot of bobby fisher.... Haha

Seriously he said he wasn't doing whole batches of film just one roll of something important.

It sucks that this space shuttle guy doesn't have his rolls done, but he knew it was happening and was doing this space shuttle launch thing and hasn't finished it in time, yet expects someone to process it anyway...

I was short on money and had to borrow money to get my rolls processed, but I got them in, and done. I had 15 rolls left I just couldn't afford to process, but I didn't shoot them I hopes someone would later.... Now I have over 100 rolls and I'm shooting them as B&W because I know they will never be color... Sad... But that's the reality...

As the final date got closer, I had about 20 rolls left and just posted them for free on Craigslist with the proviso that the ending date was coming up fast. 2 months ago I came across a roll that my late father in law shot and I'm not sure about processing it myself.

Hmm I could be wrong too  but that's what I thought he said.

Another member (Dan) had a 6 year long Kodahrome project, and he seems not to be willing to help with that, so I doubt he will do the shuttle thing. We shall see...

I'm surprised someone hasn't kidnapped PE to some remote volcano hideout surrounded by laser wielding sharks, and make him figure out a way to develop Kodachrome using salt water and sticks

Well, I suggested in the Ferrania thread to give PE some nice holiday to Italy :D ... Following the original barn idea that popped on the (legendary) "Kodachrome has been discontinued" thread.

On the emulsion making forum subsection of APUG there was this garage sized small coating machine by an Australian EK retiree, last word said was that he was planning to do some Kodachrome type film, or at least some kind of color; and he succesfully produced B&W.

Just throwing it out there would anyone here be willing to pay $260 dollars per roll for Colour Kodachrome processing with a minimum of 5 rolls per order and payment before processing?

Kodachrome was good, but not that bloody good.

Dead and buried, and folk are still rambling on about it. Move on.

Please don't tell others what they can and cannot discuss. When you do that, you're also effectively telling me what I can and cannot listen to. And I enjoy listening to the rambling on this topic.

Oh, I'm sure you'd listen to what Fujifilm is about to announce. Then rant about that too.

Looks, you can rant and whistle Dixie until the cows come home, but Kodachrome won't be back. Sorry, but after all these pages, still no miracle or first off the ranks with the $260 a roll offer. What? Nobody has taken up that offer? Why?

My reaction to your first post was about none of that. I was trying to be polite and subtle.

Subtract my second and third sentences, then please try again...

Well after all the work Steve Frizza went to in processing some kodachrome experimantally, im surprised he's not offering a service.
It seems rather pointless to process it just to show that it can indeed be done, after going to all the work of making the equipment necessary to do all the light exposures, etc, i thought he would have liked to have made some money back for his time, especially knowing that there are at least some people who are prepared to pay for processing this film.

It seems likely that somebody will come up with a technique to develop Kodachrome conveniently, but without guaranteeing color balance or stable dye-couplers. The images should be copied and archived then corrected in some other medium. It might be a classic form of the art.

By now, all the kodachrome rolls left on the market have expired and, obviously, have fogged/shifted colors/lost sensitivity and whatnot.

I wouldn't shoot a single roll even if processing was free.

One could look at it as advice based on an opinion, which is everywhere on this site, not necessarily telling you what you can or cannot do.

the majority of photographers including Steve Mccurry have kept theirs frozen.
