How can I get this white stuff off of this Brownie Hawkeye lens. I've had it awaking in peroxide as suggested by a website, but it ain't a workin! It was much thicker than this earlier.

Its plastic, or bakelite so I didn't want to scrub.... not to mention taking the chance of scratching the albeit very cheap lens.

I tried scraping with my finger nail and it flaked off, so I did that as much as I could. Then I took a small flat head precision screwdriver and did the rest as best I could. Its 99.999% clean now. I can still see some very minuscule white specks here and there.

Fungus: 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and ammonia, will remove fungus from a glass lens. rinse in water and then wash the lens with dish washing soap, and rinse in cold water,or distilled water. Not sure how it will effect a plastic lens.

If the fungus is really bad, I have heard use Pond's Hand Creme. Although I have not tried it yet.

Corrosion can be removed with plain old vinegar. Let it sit for day.

Vinegar is a natural acid.

If all of this does not work...go here and ask...
