Yup, but the scratches are easy to remove with the clone tool, its the fungus which is most obvious in the black that can't be cloned away which is why I'm really interested in Frank53's result with selenium toner

That's very interesting, Clare. I'm going to get silica bags to put with the negatives as well. Did you get any further with your suggested comparisons?

Their appearance is exactly the same as this image. The results you show are stunning so I would really appreciate your opinion on how to restore them.

This looks like the negative I treated with selenium toner. Good chance it does the trick here as well.
