I see what these have been going for lately (new and used) and am glad I got mine just a couple years ago for less than a grand.

Yeah... the cheapest I've seen lately was on craigsllist for $1250.

As nice as it is to have long reach with larger film, depth of field can become an issue. 150mm lens at f/22 = 300mm at f/45 = 600mm at f/90.

Still... if one wants/needs a really good lightweight 600mm it's there. These used in nearly mint condition have been selling for $1200-1400 so $1050 from a reputable company seems like a darned good deal to me. Someone should grab it quick... just wish I had the money.
