Sounds almost like a re-work of a Plaubel Makina. If that turns out to be the concept, I could see that being enticing to some enthusiasts, and maybe a few professionals, though it would depend upon what lens. It would be nice if it was longer than 80mm, so then it might fill a roll that the Mamiya 7 II cannot. Anyway, if you were near the booth, maybe one of these Dead Link Removed could give more information.

Mick Fagan made an interesting point. What's a portable MF? Presumably this is to distinguish it from a non portable. I wonder what MFs Fuji have placed in this category? Until we know it is difficult to form any idea of what it might be but a folder sounds about right. Even the 6x9s of yesteryear were small by their very nature and would just about fit into a large pocket.

Looks like an update of the Mamyia 6, the folder from the 50s, the film moves for focus rather than the lens. I have a late model, great compact camera, I carry it with my 4X5.

Why buy it? What does it bring to the table that is better than a Mamiya 7II? The only thing it seems to have going is that it folds. I doubt if there will be interchangeable lenses. I was hoping it would be 6x9, with a few lenses. In that case I'd buy it in a second.

My late 50s Mamyia 6 folds up and fits into my Large Format case and luggage. Does not replace my Mamyia Universal and lens set. But if the price is right a new folder with built in light meter and modern lens will be on my list.

That's very much like my Voigtlander Perkeo II, but with a coupled rangefinder and built-in meter, hot shoe, and presumably other modern improvements. Notice that the shutter speeds are set on the camera body, so presumably it would have an electronic leaf shutter. I'd buy that.

Looks cool. Indeed - in this sector Fuji would have no concurence. But could we hope for a TTL ? And maybe a two different versions - on with 80mm and one with 50mm lens (just my phantasy). It it will come out I will go for it.

Just imagine a guy standing next to you with his latest gigapixel DSLR asking you : "How old is that ?!" and you say: "... Brand new"

Well, Fuji was making the TX-2 (Hassy Xpan II) until late 2004/early 2005 (at least according to this - last post - unverified, I know). I wonder if they've scrapped the tools/dies/production lines, or just mothballed them for an eventuality like this - an MF camera would be somewhat different, but the principles are the same...

Well, should not go for more than Mamyia 7 II with 80mm lens. I think I will start to save so that I am ready in a year from now
